Since these services were first developed in the 1970s for corporations and other organizations, we know that there has almost never been an instance where anyone clearly understood their dynamics, application, potential and importance through reading. Discounting the profound impact of the past is a major “blind spot” in foreign relations. It puts every possible initiative in jeopardy. We just cannot reasonably expect to write something new on a blackboard without erasing what is already on it. Taking full responsibility for harm done is required.
4-The ability to identify the factors necessary to produce outstanding diplomatic results without the use of manipulative and coercive measures. (Ex. Sanctions, condemnation, political pressure, threats, armed force, etc.)
Manipulative and coercive tactics may seem useful to some but source hostility, resentment and retaliation in the short and long term.
